A land of sun and sea, Puglia is the heel of the boot which extends into the Mediterranean, bathed on the east by the Adriatic and on the west by the Ionian Sea.
Its 800 km. of coastline make it the region with the longest coastline after Sardinia and Sicily. Like theirs, its coastline is varied, with alternating tropical landscapes, rocky hills, wide beaches, fascinating grottos, and imposing cliffs.
Villa Valley is located in San Pietro in Bevagna, in the heart of the Manduria region in the Province of Taranto.
Overlooking the Ionian sea, the province of Taranto has approximately 600,000 inhabitants. Its capital is Taranto, the second largest city in Puglia after Bari. It is called the city of two seas because it is situated between the Mar Grande, the Great Sea, and the Mar Piccolo, the Little Sea, within the Gulf of Taranto.
If you dream of traveling along the coast with its sublime landscapes and the wind in your hair, you will be captivated by Puglia: its beaches are absolutely heavenly.
The Ionian coast is full of marvelous spots far from the tumult of the tourist resort towns of the Adriatic coast. With its little secret beaches, they even speak of the Italian Maldives of Puglia! With its warm, clear sea, an endless blue sky, and a land full of sun, you risk falling in love with the Ionian coast !
A land of charm, authenticity, and tradition, the area is home to remarkable cities where baroque architecture can be found side by side with the Trulli, those little stone houses which recall prehistoric architecture and are found only in this region, as well as the masserie, old farms brimming with flowers. If Lecce is the jewel of baroque architecture, Alberobello and the Valle d’Itria are not to be missed for their iconic architecture of the Trulli. Trulli are also called casiedde, literally meaning hut or cabin.
